A new cruise ship is set to make its world debut in the coming months - and you can be among the first to experience it thanks to a travel agent in Wales.

The Symphony of the Seas makes its maiden voyage in the spring and award-winning Cardiff travel operator Passion for Cruises is on board to offer a limited run of pre-opening sailings.

They run in March and April and begin with flights from Bristol, and there is a chance to catch exclusive entertainment, see performances and try new foods at the biggest dress rehearsal at sea.

Tell more more about the new ship

Symphony of the Seas

It will carry 5,479 passengers, making it slightly larger than its 5,400-passenger classmates Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas.

Features include a redesigned boardwalk with arcade games, a laser tag arena, a full-scale stage production of Hairspray and three water slides.

What's the food and drink like?

Symphony of the Seas

Many of Royal Caribbean's most popular restaurants will be on board, including Sorrento's, Izumi, Johnny Rockets, Chops Grille, 150 Central Park, Wonderland and Jamie's Italian.

There are two new eateries too. El Loca Fresh focuses on quick bites such as tacos and Mexican food to go, while Hooked Seafood is all about New England-inspired fare, featuring fresh seafood and a raw bar.

And for those with a sweet tooth, Sugar Beach is fully loaded with all your favourite confectionery, and serves homemade ice cream too.

Is there any entertainment for the kids?

You bet there is. Symphony of the Seas will have plenty of fun and adrenaline-pumping activities for cruisers on its top decks.

There will be (deep breath); multiple FlowRider surf simulators, a sheer drop Ultimate Abyss slide, the three-water slide Perfect Storm attraction, kid-friendly Splashaway Bay splash zone, mini-golf and three swimming pools - phew!

What else is there to do?

There's something to do at almost every turn in the ship's public spaces.

There is Central Park, the H2O Zone, Kid's Avenue and the Boardwalk, which includes the over-sized Playmakers Sports Bar, complete with a large arcade.

On-board productions include a full-scale production of Hairspray, as well as a just-for-Royal Caribbean show called Flight, a historical satire following the evolution of air travel.

Both the AquaTheater high-diving outdoor theatre and Studio B ice rink theatre will feature new shows: HiRo, a high-energy acrobatic show, and 1977, a time-traveling extravaganza, respectively.

Another first for the line will be a laser tag arena, and there is also a dedicated Puzzle Break escape room.
