The authorities in Barbados and Antigua are working together to get an accused fraudster back into Antigua today after he fled from the island in recent days.
The man is 39-year-old Bulgarian national, Martin Dimitrov Dachenski, who is before the Antigua court on several fraud charges. He allegedly stole $28,000 from several ATMS in Antigua last December, using forged bank cards.
Dachenski was granted bail earlier this year and was ordered to sign in at a police station several times a week.
Police sources say he last signed in on Saturday and was caught on a cruise ship in Barbados on Tuesday.
This morning, the High Court was asked to revoke his bail so that when he is returned to the country, he would be going straight to Her Majesty’s Prison.
